Jim and I started dating in April of 2007. It was a while before he got up the nerve to suggest that I accompany him to a cruise-in at Mama Possums. Jim had a 67 Dodge Coronet R/T that he had restored but he thought I wouldn't be interested in old cars and was reluctant to bring it up.

This Ranchero is firmly anchored at Butch's.

These days, it's tough to find a junkyar... uh, I mean AUTO SALVAGE YARD containing anything older than a few years.

Our project obviously was going to require a lot of parts! So we decided that one way to save time, money and trouble was to look for a parts car, another 63 four door that would act as an organ donor for the old bird. That car came in the form of a great little blue car located in Pennysylvania that I purchased through eBay.

The left-for-dead Falcon sits forlornly (Ford-lornly?) under the barn shelter... tired, dirty, neglected, and home to rodents and countless creepy-crawly things.

After the Bird was wrecked in the 80's, it went to my dad, and then to my brother. As its condition deteriorated, it sat unused in my brother's front yard for a couple of years (WITH THE WINDOW DOWN!!! Three lashes for my brother), then was dragged under a barn shelter where it sat for many more years (Kudos to my brother... wait!). That's where it was when my brother gave it back to me.
